NASA's first crewed lunar landing attempt since Apollo 17 in 1972. SLS configuration currently listed is expected to change.
Artemis IV will see 4 unannounced crew members launching to the moon aboard an SLS rocket. From there, they will enter a near-rectilinear-halo-orbit or NRHO. Two crew members will then board a commercial lunar lander, either a SpaceX Lunar Starship or Blue Origin Blue Moon, and conduct the first crewed lunar landing in over 50 years, while the remaining two crew members will stay aboard Orion. After a stay at the Lunar South Pole, the two astronauts will return to Orion and return home.
